I was commissioned by herbalist by Heidi Merika to photograph 33 wild plants for her book Wildcraft. This is a book dedicated to the science & spirit of wild plants as food & medicine. delivered with Heidi's expertise, knowledge & care; to the backdrop of my plant photography. The book has now reached test print stage after 2 years in the making.
It is such a HAPPY feeling to see this pile of test print pages of Heidi Merika’s book. I'm not able to reveal the cover yet, but I can tell you we have changed the design 3 times, and it now finally feels like we have the right fit.
Work on this book has been particularly long because these are all wild plants, growing in the wild. For some plants we had to trek into the bush, for others we had to forage on the road side, and for some we had to wait months for their season. Then each time rush back to photography them while they looked fresh and vibrant.
