A childhood treat, held in perfect orbit.

From the studio ~

I grew up in a small country town in Victoria, thirty minutes from the nearest supermarket. If I was good, I got a whole mango to eat on the drive home — wrists dripping with juice, feeling like Christmas. Two decades later, I raise my own kids in tropical Queensland, where mangoes drop straight off the neighbourhood trees. Even with that abundance on tap, mango still carries the feeling of those rare childhood treats — the ones that stay precious long after they stop being scarce.

This piece was shot flat-lay. People often ask how I got the mango grid so perfect, and whether it's really one single mango — it is, but getting it right took five attempts before this one. I draped the half over an upturned bowl to maximise the roundness, working quickly before the surface lost its gloss and started to drip.

Print Details

This piece features my original photography printed on premium archival-grade canvas using museum-quality giclée printing technology.

The canvas I use is a 340 gsm poly cotton blend with a matte/satin finish. It is scratch, crack, & warp resistant.

The printing process I utilize uses water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection to product vibrant, long-lasting colors.

Framing Details

Your print will arrive framed and ready to hang.

The frames I use are called 'floater-frames'. I've chosen them for 2 reasons: they provide a clean, modern aesthetic that adds depth and dimension to the piece; and the box-like structure provides the option to sit the piece upright on a surface rather than hanging it.

When you look at the work straight on, the frame thickness is 1cm regardless of canvas size. This means that the frame edge will feel more prominent on smaller canvas sizes. From the side, all frames are 4cm deep, this means the front surface of the piece will sit 4cm out from your wall.

My frames are crafted from high quality solid oak or solid hardwood, from renewable sources, and comes pre-installed hanging hardware and rubber bumpers.
