My wild plant photography commissioned by Heidi Merika for her book Wildcraft has been published. There are 30+ plants inside and I made friends with every one of them. Wildcraft: the science & spirit of wild plants as food and medicine; has been a labour of love for a large part of the last few years, and almost every plant inside feels like a friend I’ve had a conversation with... patiently searched for, coaxed into position and photographed.

Here is the final cover design, with my own hand featured. I hold St John's wort - which feels like a fitting vibrant choice. Earlier cover concepts featured Mugwort, which felt slightly more controversial in a commercial sense.

I have grained priceless plant lore through this project. I know the difference between a Cats Ear and a Dandelion to the point I could tell them a part with my eye’s closed. I have Gotu Kola, Blackberry Nightshade and Oxalis in my garden. And I know they are safe to eat. And I can identify many wild plants by names that other people would call as weeds.

In closing, I have fallen in love with so many weeds.
