From the studio ~
Late January in Queensland is intensely hot, when gardens begin to look tired and many of the flowers we associate with beauty have already passed. I bought the unopened Lisianthus buds from my local florist and gathered the rest from the roadside, drawn to the way each one felt: smooth petals, the soft puff of a seed head, flowering grass like velvet, and waxy clusters of fruit. Together, they carried the tenderness of a season after its peak — that familiar moment when something seems almost finished, yet still holds more beauty than we expected.
I arranged the flora in a glass vase so the afternoon light could pass through it, illuminating the stems as well as the flowers above. Then I formed a perfect circle from wire and placed it among them, visible inside the vase. Its open shape became a pause within the arrangement — a little more air, a little more room to breathe.
Print Details
This piece features my original photography printed on premium archival-grade canvas using museum-quality giclée printing technology.
The canvas I use is a 340 gsm poly cotton blend with a matte/satin finish. It is scratch, crack, & warp resistant.
The printing process I utilize uses water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection to produce vibrant, long-lasting colors.
Framing Details
Your print will arrive framed and ready to hang.
The frames I use are called 'floater-frames'. I've chosen them for 2 reasons: they provide a clean, modern aesthetic that adds depth and dimension to the piece; and the box-like structure provides the option to sit the piece upright on a surface rather than hanging it.
When you look at the work straight on, the frame thickness is approximately 1cm regardless of canvas size. This means that the frame edge will feel more prominent on smaller canvas sizes. From the side, all frames are approximately 4cm deep. This means the front surface of the piece will sit 4cm out from your wall.
My frames are crafted from high quality solid oak or solid hardwood, from renewable sources, and come with pre-installed hanging hardware and rubber bumpers.
