If you take a stroll through my work, you may agree that nature and foliage deserve an Oscar for best-supporting act, but what you might not know is that I am a qualified engineer and a qualified product designer and I spent many years creating technical drawings of consumer objects. This work marries everything in happy union. This work was first created as part of a series to accompany a photographic essay about plant geometry, which you can read more about in my journal.
This is a striking piece that works well in rooms that need a lift and focal point. It's the type of work you can fall into and spend time looking at the details. I photographed and edited this leaf at a true-to-life scale, and then used engineering software to accurately measure the radii of the leafs curves, annotating the image like a technical drawing.
No generative AI was used in the creation of this work. All composition, editing and embellishment were carried out through deliberate artistic decisions and hands-on processes.
Print Details
This piece features my original photography printed on premium archival-grade canvas using museum-quality giclée printing technology.
The canvas I use is a 340 gsm poly cotton blend with a matte/satin finish. It is scratch, crack, & warp resistant.
The printing process I utilize uses water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection to product vibrant, long-lasting colors.
Framing Details

The frames I use are called 'floater-frames'. I've chosen them for 2 reasons: they provide a clean, modern aesthetic that adds depth and dimension to the piece; and the box-like structure provides the option to sit the piece upright on a surface rather than hanging it.
When you look at the work straight on, the frame thickness is 1cm regardless of canvas size. This means that the frame edge will feel more prominent on smaller canvas sizes. From the side, all frames are 4cm deep, this means the front surface of the piece will sit 4cm out from your wall.
My frames are crafted from high quality solid oak or solid hardwood, from renewable sources, and comes pre-installed hanging hardware and rubber bumpers.
