Coober Pedy
From the studio ~
My partner and I took our family through outback Australia, and nothing prepared me for Coober Pedy. The landscape felt cinematic and strangely disorienting, as though we had arrived somewhere beyond the familiar world. It carried that rare feeling travel can give us — the sudden realisation that life is larger and more surprising than the version we know at home.
Rather than photographing the wider vista, I was drawn to a smaller arrangement: an almost perfectly round stone resting at the base of a pink-and-white sandstone wall. I found the composition already there — wall, ground and sphere — like a still life assembled by the landscape itself.
No generative AI was used in the creation of this work. All composition, editing and embellishment were carried out through deliberate artistic decisions and hands-on processes.
Print Details
This piece features my original photography printed on premium archival-grade canvas using museum-quality giclée printing technology.
The canvas I use is a 340 gsm poly cotton blend with a matte/satin finish. It is scratch, crack, & warp resistant.
The printing process I utilize uses water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection to product vibrant, long-lasting colors.
Framing Details
Your print will arrive framed and ready to hang.
The frames I use are called 'floater-frames'. I've chosen them for 2 reasons: they provide a clean, modern aesthetic that adds depth and dimension to the piece; and the box-like structure provides the option to sit the piece upright on a surface rather than hanging it.
When you look at the work straight on, the frame thickness is 1cm regardless of canvas size. This means that the frame edge will feel more prominent on smaller canvas sizes. From the side, all frames are 4cm deep, this means the front surface of the piece will sit 4cm out from your wall.
My frames are crafted from high quality solid oak or solid hardwood, from renewable sources, and comes pre-installed hanging hardware and rubber bumpers.
