"To be an artist is to dance between the light and the darkness"
- James McCrae
Ravens have long carried that messenger energy for me - intelligent, watchful, and impossible to fool.
In this diptych, I arranged plated offerings as an imagined exchange - in the hope that wisdom, insight, or some deeper knowing might be given in return.
A lot of my work begins with symbolic encounters from the natural world, then opens into something more emotional. In this piece, the raven became a way to think about instinct, perception, discernment and desire, and the inner quest for knowing.
